I have put my master Feedback Module in a weathertight box, but now realise that I have connected the output to the slave to the connector in the middle rather than the one on the left hand side. Does this matter? It will be a nuisance to have to unseal the box.

Hi Ian,

this is equal. Middle and left connector are the same. Only right is master.

Best regards

Peter

Hallo,

Everything was OK with my train detection modules since few weeks... After very difficult beginnings! Embarassed
Thanks to Peter and Norbert! Smile
But today without any change, two modules does not work.
They are slaves, in third and fourth position. When I try to reconnect them by a direct way to the Dimax, nothing works at all! The station sometimes turn on alarm.
I have reset one train detection module, and then reprogrammed it without any result.
Can somebody help me ? Idea

Hallo,

I spent much time today to see what may lie the problem. I discovered a black trace like short-circuit in the RJ 11 connector between blocks 1 (master) and 2 (Slave) ... However I can not always run 3rd block (slave). I did a reset and a new program without any result. The 4th block (slave) works normally.

What schould I do ?

Bonjour Christophe,

If you connect the detection module directly to the Dimax, you must disconnect the other modules. For probably they all have the same ID-number. As a slave that's no problem, but if you use more than 1 module as a master, they all must have different ID-numbers.

So try to test your defect modules seperately, and then you'll probably see which module works and which doesn't.

Hallo Marteen, thanks for your help,

I just reprogram the feedback module 3 and reconnect as "Master" and it still does'nt works. In this case, the module No. 4 "slave" does not work ...
But still works if bloc 1 is "master", 2, 3 and 4 are "slaves"!

Read after reset the CV 7 shows 12, CV 1 indicates 1. Is it important?

Bonjour Christophe,

CV7 indicates the software version. 12 means 1.2.
But shouldn't CV1 be 0 for the Dimax? Other values of CV1 are for LGB and indicate LGB contact numbers. For the Dimax the contact numbers are given in the CVs 51/52, 61/62, 71/72 and 81/82.

If changing CV1 in 0 doesn't solve your problem, you should test your module by connecting it to the Dimax without any other modules. So remove everything, except the module you want to test.

A+
Maarten.

Dear Maarten,

CV 1 was the only thing to change! returning to 0 solved the problem. Train detection woks normaly now.
Thousand thanks fot your kind help.

But... progressing to control trains with computer is a never ending story. Rolling Eyes

Speed loks is ok when the Dimax system works alone. When I connect it to the PC loks can starts, but never stops! They stay at low speed!
Stop them is impossible with PC!
With Navigators, if I start one, it stay at the same step what ever I do with the control nob, the loc stops only if an other action is requested, ie: change switch... or reverse direction of travel, but in this case, the loc stay on the way in the over direction...

I reinstalled the dimax firmware without change.

Since the crash between the dimax and the pc last week... nothing will!

Bonjour Christophe,

I'm glad it worked.
But I'm sorry, I don't connect my computer to my Massoth. So I cann't help you with this.
I only know that the older firmware versions have some problems with the "crans de marche" if connected to a PC. The new version 2.59 should solve these.

Anyway, next week I'll be in Paris to visit the Railexpo.

A+
Maarten.

Hallo Maarten,

Thank you for the help. I finally found the reason of my worries. Some CVs locomotive decoders had changed values... It is those whitch were on the tracks at the time of the crash between the Dimax and the computer.
In the same time, data have been lost in Train Controller...
I started everything back in order. Rolling Eyes
I was able to run two trains on some shedules. The automatic train, it was at night, is really magical. But these days, it rains too often to put the trains on the tracks outside... and the railroad gardener too!!! Smile

Sorry, I can not go to RailExpo this year, I liked being able to make your acquaintance. If you want to get on TGV towards Nantes, you are welcome at home, station is close to the exhibition (Massy TGV).
